Dream Journal 1.10.15

I was royalty. I had been residing somewhere horrible. Akin to where I grew up. I was coming home again. I made my way through the halls with a guard. I was so excited to home again. I open a door, and I see my best friend (in the dream). I break down and just fall on him sobbing. I just cling to him and cry. I don’t really care about anything else. Everyone else in the room is so glad to have me back. My husband, a prince, enters, and coughs. Says “Well, I’m glad you missed you me.” Gives me a wry look, and I just smile through my tears, and throw myself at him. I cry some more. Then I see my sister (real sister, dressed as a princess, but younger) in a heap on the floor crying inconsolably. I remember she’s just lost her prince, and is a widow. We cry together.

I wake up! As dreams go, this was *the* most normal dream I’ve ever had.

Crying – To dream that you are crying signifies a release of negative emotions that is more likely caused by some waking situation rather than the events of the dream itself. Your dream is a way to regain some emotional balance and to safely let out your fears and frustrations. In your daily lives, you tend to ignore, deny, or repress your feelings. But in your dream state, your defense mechanisms are no longer on guard and thus allow for the release of those feelings that you have repressed during the day.

To see someone else crying in your dream may be a projection of your own feelings onto someone else. If you do not cry in your waking life, then seeing someone else cry may be a little easier to deal with then seeing yourself cry.

Guard – To see an armed guard in your dream represents rational thinking. You are being cautious and practical. The dream may also be on pun that you need to be “on guard” or alert about a situation.

Home – To see your home in your dream signifies security, basic needs, and values. You may be feeling at “home” or settled at your new job or environment. Alternatively, the dream represents your basic needs and priorities.

Hometown – To dream of your hometown indicates that you may be experiencing some unexpressed feelings. You may feel that you are not able to fully express your emotions. This could be triggered by some unfinished feeling in your waking life. The dream could also reflect aspects of yourself that were prominent or developed when you were living in your hometown. Did you abandon certain values or ideals when you moved to the big city? Did you forget some aspect of yourself and who you really are?

Husband – To see your husband in your dream signifies the waking relationship with your husband and the subconscious feelings you have towards him. The dream may be trying to focus on hidden elements that you are not addressing in your waking life.

Prince – To see a prince in your dream signifies your association with honor and prestige. You will be recognized for some task. Alternatively, it indicates your desires for romance.

Princess – To dream that you are a princess indicates that you are realizing your full potential. However, there is still more growing that you need to do. It is also a symbol of youth and mental development.

Sister – To see your sister in your dream symbolizes some aspect of your relationship with her, whether it one of sibling rivalry, nurturance, protectiveness, etc. Your sister may draw attention to your family role. Or the dream may also serve to remind you that someone in your waking life has characteristics similar to your sister. Alternatively, your sister may be a metaphor for a nun. In this case, she may represent some spiritual issues.
